A Great Idea, Lacks Cleverness In The Execution: Slapstick Shenanigans That Are More Loud Than They Are Funny
With America being such a litigious society, I literally cringe when I hear what people are suing for these days. I love People's Court and Judge Judy because these types of shows confirm the worst of human nature! The train wreck personalities that populate the cases presented all represent the frightening new ideal, anything to make a quick buck and eliminate any semblance of personal responsibility. It would be hard to write a movie that was more comical and ridiculous than the real world! Well, the comedy "Slip & Fall" takes on this shady topic with an aggressive glee. I absolutely think that the premise of "Slip & Fall" is solid and extremely ripe for a biting and merciless satire. But while this film swings for the fences, it lacks a certain cleverness that might have made it a comedy treasure. Pretty F'n Funny (when you see the movie you will know why I used this title)
They say comedy is the most difficult film to produce. Jason Loomis succeeded in writing
a memorable and truly funny comedy.

I came across this film while researching an actor I was considering for my own film.
To be honest the thought of a independent comedy with two names actors (William Forsythe & Andrew Divoff)
who are not known for comedy did not show me much promise. Well, to say I was surprised was an understatement.

Loomis succeeded in writing a very funny script. Marc Colucci appeared to do great as Director.
And the no-name cast nailed it. Sam Cohan did a wonderful job as the Danny. A poor college kid
who always wants to do the right thing but seems to get beat at every turn. Zofia Gozynska gives
a great performance as Danny's venomous girl friend Henryka.

The crazy thing about "Slip & Fall" is that it is very difficult to categorize. Parts are harmless comedy.

Fun Film!
This is a fun film. If you're in the mood for a comedy you should check it out. It's a great comedy that I wish Hollywood was making more of these days.

In particular William Decoff's roll is a scene stealer!
