The Amityville Horror Trilogy [Blu-ray]
third movie is in 3d.
THis is the first time I have ever done a review on a item that isn't out yet. But I must back up the other person and confirm that in fact the third movie is in 3d. I emailed shout factory to point out that the box doesn't say this. And I suggested some other titles to put out in the 3d format. Universal also can be emailed about films like jaws 3d, the glass web, taza, and it came from outer space. If you love 3d movies then please go to their contact universal page and ask for those 3d movies. As for these films, I thought all three of them were pretty good. A lot better than the awful remake. There were several other amytiville movies that were made straight to video release as well. But these three were the big studio releases. SO it's a good thing to get them. And the last one is indeed in 3d and 2d. Why shout factory did not put this on the box is beyond me! , And it's causing problems already.

Blu-ray 3D Exposes Limitations of ArriVision 3D.
The Amityville Horror is a classic story about a family experiencing problems after moving into a haunted house. The Amityville Horror craze was an unexpected and terrifying phenomenon in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The slasher hadn't exploded yet when this film scored huge at the box office. Supernatural horror had ten good years already but everyone who saw Amityville Horror was blown away. The lead actor, James Brolin, couldn't find work for 2 years after appearing in this film despite being an accomplished actor! To this day I'm not sure I understand what happened and why with the ten film franchise (the eleventh installment has just been completed). Friday the 13th established the slasher for the 1980s the year after and the rest is history. My personal favorite is Amityville II. The Possession features Burt Young (Rocky) who just slaps you around right away and it's full-blown possession time 20 minutes into it. Good performances, great make-up, great effects, good plot and...
